Job Description

Cad-Con Design is currently seeking an Interior Millwork Student Intern to join our team.  As a Student Intern for the Interior Millwork Design team, you will be responsible for performing interior assignments to obtain professional experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• Performs elementary interiors assignments and works from designs of others.
• Copies sketches, layouts, plans and drawings.
• Performs drafting assignments by applying standardized drawing techniques.
• Develops, modifies and/or reviews production drawings according to established standards.
• Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

Basic Skills you may or may not have but should after 6 months in.

• Possess basic hand and CAD drafting skills. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
• Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency in Revit is preferred.
• Basic knowledge about sustainability and LEED preferred.
• Basic proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in team environment.

Experience we like to see but not a must for the unpaid internship.

• Currently enrolled in an architecture or interior design program.
• Previous internship in an architectural or interiors design firm preferred.

Cad-Con Design is currently seeking a Millwork Draftsman to join our team.  As a Millwork Draftsman for the Interior Millwork Design team, you will be responsible for preparing Millwork & Casework Shop Drawings.

Job Description

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office. -Ensure material and fabrication specifications meet customer requirements. -Create cut lists, bills of materials and material optimizations. -Ability to manage concurrent projects. -Ability to maintain a balanced workflow and meet deadlines. -Collaborate with architects, designers, audio/video contractors, developers, builders, General contractors, sub contractors, vendors, and fabricators. - Ability to provide site supervision for millwork install and field measurements are A plus.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: -Expert skill level in 2D & 3D drafting with AutoCAD. -Extensive knowledge of the millwork/casework industry. -Proficiency interpreting architectural drawings and specifications. -Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, customers and vendors. Education/Experience: -Associate Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Design. -Minimum of 3 years’ experience drafting millwork shop drawings.
